Founded in 1832, the house of Castarède is not as old as the spirit it sells, but is nevertheless the most venerable Armagnac merchant, and still in family hands. The house style is extremely mellow because of the extra ageing in oak.
The 1979 has a delicate nose with hints of perfume. It has aromas of fruits like peach and prune. It is extremely long in the mouth with lots of fruit character and a hint of spice.
